This Gamma AI review looks at one of the most popular AI presentation makers in 2026. Gamma turns a prompt, notes or an existing document into a presentation, document, website or social post in minutes, and its Gamma Agent can research a topic and revise a whole deck. But it uses a credit system, adds a “Made by Gamma” badge to free exports, and trains on individual users’ content unless you opt out. Here is what Gamma does, what it costs, its strengths and weaknesses, and when an alternative is a better fit.

This review is based on Gamma’s official pricing page, help centre, developer changelog and privacy policy, checked on 13 October 2026, plus independent reporting. We have not run our own hands-on tests, so we describe documented features rather than claiming results. Gamma’s pricing page loads its prices dynamically and we could not confirm the exact amounts or a pound price, so check gamma.app/pricing before you buy.

Gamma AI Review: Quick Verdict

  • Strengths: very fast first drafts, attractive layouts, presentations, documents and websites in one tool, an AI agent that can research and revise, PowerPoint and PDF export, and an API on higher plans.
  • Weaknesses: credit-based usage that can run out, a watermark on free exports, no Word export, training on individual users’ content by default, and a low Trustpilot score.
  • Best for: people who need good-looking decks or one-page sites quickly and are happy to edit the AI’s draft.
  • Not ideal for: teams locked into PowerPoint templates, or organisations that need UK or EU data hosting.

What Is Gamma?

Gamma is made by Gamma Tech, Inc., a San Francisco company that launched in 2020. In November 2025 it raised a $68 million Series B led by Andreessen Horowitz at a $2.1 billion valuation, and reported more than $100 million in annual recurring revenue, according to SiliconANGLE. Gamma’s homepage now claims more than 100 million users.

Instead of building slides one by one, you describe what you want, and Gamma generates a set of “cards” (slides or sections) with text, images and layout. You then edit them like a document. The same approach works for documents, simple websites, social posts and graphics.

Key Features

AI generation from prompts, notes or files

You can start from a short prompt, paste notes or import a PDF or PowerPoint file. Gamma’s pricing page says free users can generate up to 10 cards per prompt and paid users up to 100.

Gamma Agent

Introduced with Gamma 3.0 in September 2025, Gamma Agent can research a topic and add citations, use links and screenshots you provide, restyle images or entire decks, and review and revise a presentation. Gamma 3.0 also added Smart Diagrams, more layouts and themes, custom brand themes for teams and real-time collaboration.

Export and sharing

Gamma exports to PDF, PNG and PowerPoint (PPTX), and can post directly to LinkedIn. To use a deck in Google Slides, Gamma’s help centre describes exporting to PPTX and uploading it. There is no Word (.docx) export. Pro adds detailed analytics and advanced sharing.

Websites and custom domains

Gamma can publish pages as websites. According to its help centre, Pro supports up to 10 sites on custom domains and Ultra up to 100.

API and integrations

API keys come with Pro, Ultra, Teams and Business plans. Gamma also offers connectors for ChatGPT and Claude on every plan, including Free, and integrations with Zapier, Make, Workato and n8n.

Gamma Pricing and Credits

Gamma offers Free, Plus, Pro and Ultra plans for individuals, plus business plans, with monthly or annual billing. Gamma says annual plans include the same monthly credits at a 28% discount, Ultra is currently monthly only at an introductory price, billing is per member, and prices may be subject to tax depending on your location.

Plan Monthly credits Notes
Free 400 one-time credits at sign-up Credits do not refresh; up to 10 cards per prompt; “Made by Gamma” badge on exports
Plus 1,000 Removes the badge; advanced image models
Pro 4,000 Premium image models, analytics, custom domains, API access
Ultra 20,000 Most advanced text, image and video models

Credit costs vary by task. Gamma’s developer documentation lists 1 to 3 credits per card and between 2 and 125 credits per AI image depending on the image model, so image-heavy decks use credits quickly. Extra credits cost $6 for 1,500, and free users can earn 200 credits per referral.

Third-party pricing guides published in 2026 list Plus at roughly $9–10 a month, Pro at $18–20 and Ultra at $90–100, but they disagree with each other, so treat these as approximate and check the current price, currency and VAT on Gamma’s own pricing page.

Privacy and Data

This is the area UK and EU businesses should read carefully:

  • Training: Gamma’s help centre says content on individual plans (Free, Plus, Pro and Ultra) can be used to train its AI features by default. You can opt out under Settings > Data Controls. Team, Business and Enterprise content is always excluded.
  • Data location: Gamma’s privacy policy says personal data is accessed and processed in the US, with safeguards for international transfers. It names an EU and UK representative for GDPR purposes.
  • Security: Gamma says data is sent over HTTPS and that it does not sell personal data. We could not confirm UK or EU data hosting on Gamma’s help pages.

If you create presentations with client or confidential information, opt out of training or use a business plan, and check your organisation’s data policies first.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Fast, polished first drafts from a prompt or document.
  • One tool for presentations, documents, websites and social posts.
  • Gamma Agent can research, cite sources and revise decks.
  • PowerPoint, PDF and PNG export.
  • API and automation integrations on higher plans.
  • Free plan to try it.

Cons

  • Credits can run out quickly, especially with AI images.
  • Free exports carry a “Made by Gamma” badge.
  • No Word export, and Google Slides needs a PPTX upload.
  • Individual users’ content is used for training unless they opt out.
  • Data is processed in the US.
  • Customer reviews are mixed: Gamma’s Trustpilot score was 1.7 out of 5 from 125 reviews when we checked on 13 October 2026.

How to Get Good Results With Gamma

  1. Give it real material. Paste your notes, data or an outline rather than a one-line prompt, so the content is accurate and specific.
  2. Set the number of cards before generating to avoid wasting credits.
  3. Use your brand theme on paid plans so slides match your style.
  4. Check every fact and citation the agent adds before presenting.
  5. Use standard images where possible; premium image models cost far more credits.
  6. Export to PPTX early if colleagues need to edit in PowerPoint.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Gamma AI free?

Yes, there is a free plan with 400 one-time credits at sign-up, up to 10 cards per prompt and a “Made by Gamma” badge on exports.

Can Gamma export to PowerPoint?

Yes. Gamma exports to PPTX, PDF and PNG. It does not export to Word.

Does Gamma use my data to train its AI?

On individual plans, yes by default; you can opt out in Settings > Data Controls. Team, Business and Enterprise content is not used for training.

Is Gamma better than PowerPoint Copilot?

Gamma is faster for creating designed drafts from scratch, while Copilot in PowerPoint is better if you need native PowerPoint files and already pay for Microsoft 365.

How much does Gamma cost in the UK?

Gamma did not publish a pound price we could confirm. Check gamma.app/pricing, which shows prices for your location and may add tax.

Conclusion

Gamma is one of the quickest ways to turn ideas into a polished presentation, document or simple website, and Gamma Agent makes revisions easier. Its credit system, free-plan watermark, US data processing and default training on individual users’ content are the main drawbacks. Try the free plan with a real project, opt out of training if your content is sensitive, and upgrade only if the drafts save you significant time.
